About
The Holy Names University COMMUNITY Orchestra is a self-funded community based ensemble sanctioned by Holy Names University, located in the Oakland Hills.
The mission of the HNUCO is to
inspire, delight and connect performers
with audiences through the power of
live, innovative musical programs.
It offers members a place to learn, prepare, and present quality musical experiences for diverse audiences.
The volunteer musicians contribute financially to partially offset costs of operating the orchestra. It will also rely on ticket sales, donations, and contributions from those who support the performing arts at the Regents’ Theater in the Valley Center for the Performing Arts.
You are cordially invited to join as orchestra members, supporters, and of course, by attending concerts.

Greetings from Martha to the Community of Holy Names University:
I look forward to being a part of this community as we bring music back to life on our lovely campus. It is an honor and privilege to embark on this musical journey with all of you! We have a unique opportunity to offer rich musical experiences to players and audiences alike.
The inaugural concert season will include three concerts: December 4, March 19, and June 4. The first concert, "Reunited", will feature Beethoven Overture to Fidelio, Schumann Symphony No. 4, and select Young Artists from the Preparatory Music Program of HNU. Also included are Two Romances by Clara Schumann.
Beginning September 13, rehearsals are Tuesday evenings 7:30 - 9:45 p.m. Plan to arrive by 7:15 p.m. Each set will include 9-12 rehearsals, allowing for holidays, or specific weeks designated for sectionals or bowing sessions.
Interested in joining? We invite strings players especially, but all inquiries are welcome. Please help spread the word to musicians in the community.
